Craigie aged
This photo of W. A. Craigie (from the OED archives) looks to have been taken in his seventies or so; he lived until the age of ninety and remained in frequent touch with the Press, advising them e.g. on the appointment of an editor for the second twentieth-century Supplement (see Brewer 2007b: chapter 5). He still wears, for daily use, the wing collar that was becoming less usual as early as 1915 (compare the neckwear on view in the photos of Murray and his staff, and of OED staff after Murray's death, both taken in 1915).
